Liverpool Seed Gallery run a seed library that shares free seeds with local growers, teaches seed saving skills and tracks down lost local varieties of vegetables and flowers to share their stories. Part of this project is using botanical illustration to connect the public with the seed library and help with plant blindness.
“We give out thousands of packets of seed each year and need fun designs for our packets”
The activity they are running for Makefest is ‘Design your own seed packet’, the public will be invited to make artwork for a packet of seed for their library which will also go into a future botanical art exhibition. The public will also have access to the seed library on the day to take free seeds home and learn about local varieties.
