We were delighted that our Wirral MakeFest event was funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund as part of the Liverpool City Region City Region Borough of Culture in 2024 and we received the final 20% in 2025. We have received some funding from our local councillors this time to help with printing but effectively this is a voluntary run event..
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund was a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.

Thanks in the past go to many helpful people. Since our inception, we have resourced materials to repurpose from Finsa UK for our lanyards, ArtFix art supplies for foam core, repurposed signage from Londis Wellington Road, plastic from Openhouse Products Ltd, windsurfing sails from Rachel, school uniforms from Wirral Fuss and a pop up tent from Cetra. Many thanks to our creative supporters – Jude Gill of Ceramic Organic, Ola of Softly Spoken Calligraphy, Nicola from Quilt Stitch Social and Mandy from Purple Monkey Crewe. Huge thank you to Mr Link and the students of Neston High School for the creation of our lanyards . We are indebted to our community partners who went above and beyond previous years – Make it Happen (for “phone a friend- resolve a dilemma” yet again), Charlotte’s Brightside (our food angels), Mencap and Wirral Christian Centre for minibuses.

Sponsorship slot available – email us if you would like to be one of our headline sponsors for 2026
Finsa UK sponsored our inaugural outing in 2023 – https://www.finsa.com/en/home both financially and with materials which we used to create our lanyards. Neston High School Maker’s space designed the medallions using a laser cutter for 2023 and 2024, we supported 3D Primo last year to create our medallions and this year we are using up all of our old stock and being resourceful.
