We have been DRAWN TO SCIENCE since we meet Nicola two years ago in Halton.
“Hi I’m Nicola and I’m the person behind Drawn to Science. I’m a scientist, doodler, maker of things and collector of fun facts. My favourite dinosaur is a diplodocus and I’m still not quite sure what I want to be when I grow up! I love science and I love art and I’m passionate about combining the two in a way that sparks curiosity about science and the world around us.”
“I combine science and art, either to make things that use science as part of the process or to illustrate and share fun science facts.”
She will share a display of zines that made that share science facts and to have on display a work in progress called “creepy crawlies” which is a zine in progress about weird and wonderful bugs. To go alongside this there will be a drop in craft activity to make a climbing bug. Families will be able to decorate a pre-cut bug and then, using cardboard and yarn, make it into a climbing bug that needs physics and the force of friction to make it climb. It is a fairly short activity allowing lots of people to have a go on the day and to have a bug to take home
