Wirral MakeFest calling for makers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, maths, and the arts. Our first round of exciting applications already received is due to be discussed this weekend by our three directors. We are looking forward to sharing a selection of our new and returning makers. Our Wirral MakeFest team would absolutely love you to be there doing what you do – we encourage you to make an application – https://wirralmakefest.org/makers/
When we talk about “makers”, what do we mean? Our directors are keen to hear from illustrators, jewellers, welders, coders, designers, coders, artists, crafters. wood-workers, mathematicians and more who would like to come and showcase your work or your group, to facilitate a talk, an activity, a demonstration of an invention or gadget.
The inaugural Wirral MakeFest in 2023 was an overwhelming success with over 50 makers, and 1800 visitors on the day. The aim is for our 2024 MakeFest to be even more vibrant as Wirral celebrates being the LCR Borough of Culture 2024 and we are part of the BoC programme. Last year and this, Makers were asked to think of how they can bring sustainability front and centre in what they do. We can assist if this is an issue. We may be able to suggest more sustainable practices or resources.
Wirral MakeFest is not a craft or trade fair. It is a fabulous coming together of different sectors and even some fabulous crossovers. Wirral MakeFest is a celebration of STEAM for all ages. Bringing together MAKERS for a day that will excite, entertain and inspire attendees to get involved! Feel free to email hello@wirralmakefest.org with any questions
