Cadcam Educators Hub will join us for the first time to Wirral MakeFest
“We’re the CADCAM Educators Hub, and as an Autodesk Learning Partner, we want to show people how ideas move from a computer screen into the real world. On the day, we’ll be running live 3D scanning where we create digital “statues” of the visitors to show how scan-to-CAD technology works.
We’ll also have 3D printers running so people can see parts being built layer-by-layer, alongside a display of some high-precision metal parts we’ve made using CNC milling and turning. We’re especially excited to show off “Generative Design”—this is where we use AI to help design really unique-looking, lightweight parts. Finally, we’ll have a setup where visitors can see these 3D models come to life through Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR).
We love showing people that engineering and design aren’t just for “experts”—it’s something anyone can get involved in. We want to spark some curiosity in the next generation of makers by letting them see, touch, and interact with the tech that builds the world around them. Everything we’re bringing is completely family-friendly and designed to be easy to understand for all ages.”
Sounds exciting – are you coming to check them out on the 25th of April 10-4 Saturday?
