Wirral MakeFest is proud to announce that this year, our event is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The UKSPF funding will enable us help us to build a sense of local pride within the community, inspire a feeling of belonging and empower us as a new community interest company to help spread opportunities for our makers. We aim to continue utilising public (civic) buildings and encourage the use of the facilities to our makers, volunteers and visitors, not only on the 1st of June but prior to and after our event. The funding has been gained through our involvement with the programme for Liverpool City Region Borough of Culture for 2024.
Details of the funding
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.
