Some background information to support a nomination for the LCR Culture & Creativity Awards:-

Wirral MakeFest 2023 was an inaugural annual event held in Birkenhead, celebrating creativity, technology, and maker culture. It created a unique platform for makers, inventors, artists, and tech enthusiasts to showcase their skills, projects, and ideas to a diverse audience. With a focus on hands-on learning and interactive exhibits, Wirral MakeFest encouraged participants of all ages to explore various aspects of DIY culture and innovation.

The one day public free festival shared a wide array of activities, including workshops, demonstrations, and exhibits encompassing areas such as robotics, electronics, arts and crafts, virtual reality, and more. It fosters a sense of community and collaboration among attendees, inspiring them to embrace their own creativity and engage with cutting-edge technologies.

Wirral MakeFest now plays a pivotal role in nurturing the local maker community and promoting STEM education, making it a must-visit for those interested in the intersection of art, science, and technology. (*FYI our next event is Saturday 2/12/23 with a smaller seasonal event at the Williamson, our full event returns Saturday 1/6/24 at both sites).
