Neston High School, located in Neston, Cheshire in the UK, has a dedicated maker space called the “Innovation Lab.” The Innovation Lab is a space designed to encourage creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning. It is equipped with a range of tools and equipment that students can use to design, build, and create.
The equipment available in the Innovation Lab includes 3D printers, laser cutters, a vinyl cutter, a CNC router, a range of hand and power tools, and electronics kits. These tools allow students to work on a variety of projects, from designing and printing prototypes to building and programming robots.
In addition to providing equipment, the Innovation Lab offers workshops and training sessions for students to learn how to use the tools and equipment safely and effectively. The workshops cover topics such as 3D printing, laser cutting, and programming.
The Innovation Lab is available for use by all students at Neston High School, from Year 7 to Year 13, and is used in a variety of subjects, including Design Technology, Computing, and Art. The aim of the Innovation Lab is to provide a space for students to develop their problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity skills, as well as to encourage an interest in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) subjects.
Mr Link and his students will be joining us outside the Williamson Art Gallery from 10am until 4pm on the 1st of June
