Molly Brown’s Emporium- Molly has experimented, played and worked with textiles since childhood. This interest has remained an important part of her life, from making Christmas presents on her Nana’s treadle machine; to teaching multiple skills at the Knitting and Stitching Shows.
After a 35 year career as an Occupational Therapist in the NHS, Molly changed direction in 2016. She focused more on teaching skills to others and working on her own projects.
Molly has been experimenting and exploring using indigo to create patterns on textiles, which she uses in various textile projects, often garments.
The alchemy of indigo holds its own charm and the fascinating array of patterns that can be created is utterly captivating.
Molly will be explaining and showing how the indigo vat works. Also showing how different ways of preparing fabric for the vat, make some of the wonderful patterns possible.
She will be based at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum on the 1st of June 10 am – 4pm.
