Wirral based artist Elizabeth Lyons is a painter and photographer based at Make! Hamilton Square. She has recently started making work using water mixable oil paint. Water mixable oil paint is genuine oil colour, however, unlike traditional oil paint it allows the use of water for thinning and cleaning rather than hazardous solvents eg turpentine. Her work will be exhibited on the day along side live drawing.
Elizabeth will also be exhibiting examples of the Japanese art of Ikebana, which she studied in Kyoto. This style of flower arranging embraces the use of many kinds of flora and foliage and does not involve the use of single use floristry foam and tape.
Elizabeth has a Masters in Fine Art from Manchester School of Art and has exhibited and published her work.
She will based in the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum on June the 1st from 10am until 4pm
