Birkenhack are a community co-working space for tech workers and makers and will be joining us for the first time – making use of old computers to do something innovative.
“We aim to create a self-organised and sustainable community. We are funded by members, workshops and other community-serving opportunities. All work we do is voluntary and not for profit.
As a desk owner you will be able to access the space morning till late. You will have your own desk with unlimited amount of clutter on it. You can use your desk as a quiet workspace for digital or craft work in the daytime. Keep in mind that occasionally we will have events on in the evening that might be in the same room. You will be able to use tools and common spaces for your projects too. Being a member means taking initiative and contributing to the space whichever way you can. Being a member is not the same as being a customer. You are a part of the community with powers and responsibilities.”
If you are interested in joining drop them a line on hello@birkenhack.org or come for a visit. We are running a plastics workshop from their new space near Hamilton Square on the 12th of April.
