This week marked an exciting milestone for Wirral MakeFest. Not only did we successfully complete the incorporation as a Community Interest Company (CIC), but we also welcomed Julie Kay (Jules) as a new director. Jules joins Alison Bailey Smith and John Howard in guiding our 2024 MakeFest.
Jules comes from a background of being a lifelong maker, with some of her earliest memories immersed in mending, growing, and creative pursuits. With a background in mental health as a children’s nurse, she later shifted her focus to creative aging. Jules’ own practice primarily involves textiles, always rooted in repurposing and recycling.
Having previously utilized her passion for making as part of Liscard Community Links CIC and Wirral Older People’s Parliament, Jules is eager to further develop these skills as a member of the Wirral MakeFest team.
