Well, what can I say about John Gorman that has not been said already! One of our own from the area. A member of the Scaffold and still going – singing Lily the Pink with Mike McCartney et al, Chris Tarrant’s side kick on Tiswas and the instigator of Wirral Festival of Firsts. He has been involved recently in many literary events in Wirral and beyond and also a great supporter of the visual arts including opening exhibitions at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum.

Sir John Betjeman died almost forty years ago ( 1906-1984) and was UK Poet Laureate from 1972 until his death, and remains one of Britain’s best-loved poets of the twentieth century.
